I dont think we blamed Eli for a last place defense. However Eli was done in 2017 but fans took time to catch on to that. Exactly - Eli hung around too long. Folded like a house of cards at just a glimpse of a pass rusher. Threw a wobble ball more than a spiral. Threw into double sometimes triple coverage while not seeing the open WR - that happened way to often. Too much duck and chuck - too many delay penalty’s. Goofy confused look time after time after time ......Said the same crap after every loss “well we had a good week of practice” “ just have to go back to work“. Seems like he said that zillion times. We still have the same problems with this team but it would be even worse with Eli. Jones is more accurate - Jones throws a better spiral - Jones can run - Jones doesn’t act like a little girl and ground the ball when a rush is coming. Jones is not the problem. He has a crap offensive line - limited wide receiver group - average running backs. Give the kid a good Oline and some better targets and a better than average running back and he’ll be smoking teams.

the organization effed him royally, how? Eli is a retired football player who is worth about 250 million dollars, I wish someone would screw me over like that.. Easy. Just become a two time championship HOF QB. You better hurry. my point was that nobody screwed Eli, I'm aware of Eli's accompishments but the organization far from screwed him..

You always bring up his money , you have got to get over that, he earned that money like Mahomes earned his 503 million. I brought up the money to show that nobody screwed Eli.....

I realize maybe not here by Giant fans but DG is well respected around the league too So is Pat Shurmur. It means nothing.. He was 19–46. I dont doubt he is respected, but not for being a HC.

I brought up the money to show that nobody screwed Eli..... It has nothing to do with the conversation on if the team wasted his time by not giving him enough help ,money is not relevant in the discussion. In the teams defense, they did try and get him weapons (odell, engram, barkley) and drafted erik Flowers. yes i agree they failed on getting a RT and Flowers didnt work out at LT .

Except Eli proved himself very capable way before that. Jones hasn't had the chance or shown anything consistently enough he could ever amount to what Eli did and quite likely never will. Pump the breaks and let it unfold before we start saying he'll be "smoking" teams lol. Right now Jones is on pace for 30 turnovers.. I don't care what the reason is, just like I didn't with Eli..

No team has ever screwed any player, which has always been my point. That's only become a made up thing with this generation. Remember all those articles crying about how the Dolphins wasted Marino's career or Jacksonville wasted MJD's? Yeah, me neither because it's not a thing. It's just something whiny non athletes say. Then they spend four hours a day talking about it on their podcast to other non athletes.

I'm not going to start an argument about this but the OL had plenty to do with it, as did the putrid offenses of McAdoo and Shurmer. Try not to argue with zealots, it's a waste of your time and energy.

What the hell has happened to this franchise? We’re on our 2nd GM, 4th HC, and we still have an inept offensive line. Well, you left of the Mara's on your list. When you have people who have no clue about football, making football decisions.

Guys you gotta let go already. Every time the fan base is upset they drag out Eli and give him another Award.
You don't rebuild with a 37 year old and this isnt 2011 anymore.
I warned this rebuild would take longer if the fans and owner didnt let go of the past.
Have the memories but. Move foward.

I fear we may have to start a whole new rebuild in the off-season. It really has been 5 years of wasted potential with this team. Shit management will do that.

Last year when Jones first took over the difference between him and Eli was like night and day. It was exhilarating to see a quarterback that wasn't afraid to get hit and threw the ball downfield instead of to a running back behind the line of scrimmage or into the dirt. Outside of New York Eli had become a laughingstock around the NFL. Mara set the team back several years by caving to Fan pressure in 2017.

I'm interested in your innovative revisions of history so I of course will be subscribing to your newsletter. In the meantime, a quick detailed explanation of how any of what is said above could be validated would be great. I mean, who didn't share the exhilaration of going 5-11 with Manning in 2018 to 3-9 with Jones in 2019? Man, we all felt that excitement, didn't we? It was almost like a dream.

Well, I'm sure the Bills will bring in some competition to push Allen starting next year. They can't be happy with the constant turnovers. And all teams do that all the time with their QBs. Get 4 or 5 top QBs to come in and push the highest priced player on the roster every year. Remember how Rothlisberger almost didn't beat out that awesome back up from a few years ago? Yeah. Me neither, but that one just never gets old.
