Under the radar horrific pick by Gettleman You've got weeks to evaluate just a handful of players going into the re-entry draft. If you are going to use a pick that high YOU HAVE TO know everything that makes a young man tick. Would you want him next to you in a fox hole and all that "non measurable" stuff. With so much time for a GM to prepare for a single pick, this was a really bad miss by DG.Because he was arrested 3 years after they drafted him?

Its been said for every player that makes an NFL roster there are 10 others that are at least as big, fast, and gifted but they let any number of issues shackle them. It's mind boggling.

There were no red flags concerning Beal as a prospect. You can't predict injuries which was what derailed his career, not this relatively minor incident. Again, this was a good prospect obtained with a 3rd round pick. I applaud those bold moves. His career could’ve gone a completely different way if not for the injuries, that's the story on many failed draft picks.

Someone on the scouting team needs to do a better job of digging with teammates, not just coaches. They know who played hard in every practice and every game and especially who played hard in the off season in the weight/film rooms. This was not a late round pick, it was a #3 and it wasn't lost in the fog of the big draft. It was a one off in the supplemental draft with all kinds of time to make a good decision. Hey, I am more or less a DG supporter but I know a big mistake when I see one. This was a real stinker.

That's on the man who used a 3rd Rounder on him. He isn't an NFL player period. Now this crap.

Probably another situation where everyone in the world but Gettleman knew about this issue (see DeAndre Baker). Wish I could “applaud” more like you these last three years under Gettleman, but unfortunately there have been few opportunities for applause with only 15 wins during that time. You do you though ....

Sure, projected. We know how those go. Daniel Jones was also projected to go much later in the draft and we took him 6. The circumstances dont matter. He was a bust. He was taken by DG. It was a swing and miss.

Toney had a shoulder injury and Ojulari tore a knee. You didn't have a problem with those picks though.

But keep applauding Dave’s “bold” moves! Yay Dave!

Not sure who was available in the 2nd instead but he dropped due to injuries so who knows if he will be a steal or just another bad choice..

I was fine with both picks, but I am a fan who does not have the same medical and other information that Gettleman does before he makes the picks. GM in the NFL is a big-boy job of ultimate accountability. To “applaud” an NFL GM for making “bold” moves that go horribly wrong is asinine IMO.

If it turns out that his pick goes bad because of information that he had before the pick that he either ignored (see Baker, DeAndre) or misevaluated, then you’re damn right it was a bad pick no matter what any fan thought about it at the time. Getty, Getty he’s our man! If he can’t do it nobody can!!

Did you review Ojulari’s medical records and scans? Better yet, did you have a team of doctors review them and provide their opinions to you? Did you interview Toney’s teammates and coaches? I sure didn’t have any of that information. You know who did (or should have)? The guy who gets paid millions of dollars to draft these guys ... Gettleman.
Sorry man ... the guy who “applauds” Gettleman’s “bold” decision to draft Beal has absolutely zero credibility when it comes to evaluating Gettleman’s performance here. Zero. If you ask me, it seems like you may be “in full bloom love” with him.

The red flags with Toney were well-documented, so I'm not acting all shocked and surprised when he lives up to them. All of us here knew there were risks with these players that I'm willing to accept responsibility if they don't work out. I won't turn around and blame the GM for draft picks I supported. You're questioning my credibility while basically arguing that your credibility doesn't matter.

No other GM submitted anything higher than a 4th rounder for Sam. He had a lot of questions and did NOT boast an NFL frame. Just a dumb decision, its okay to admit that on Gettlemens behalf even if you're predictably going to defend the move. We gave up the 71st pick of the 2019 draft who not shockingly had character concerns. Though, DG only cares about character when it fits a narrative, right? Oh and btw, Terry Mclaurin was picked by the Redskins at 76th. Ouch.

Western Michigan HC Tim Lester called him the best cover corner he ever coached. He came into the league at 6' 1" 192 lbs. Adoree Jackson is 5' 11" 182 lbs. He needed to add strength, but that's clearly an NFL frame. It didn't work out for him, but it's not worth obsessing over. You would draft any player in the 3rd round that was considered a higher round talent.

Well, its a shame they dont bring in better players. Perhaps that would actually mean something. Difference between Adoree Jackson and Beal is talent, both are undersized. Beal never played anywhere close to 190, bulking up and then not having the supporting frame = injuries. Adoree is a freak athlete who also gets injured too much. Not sure what your point was here. Mike, you're reluctance to ever admit Gettlemen made any mistake on evals is becoming legendary. You'd rather pretend third round picks are worth little to validate your thoughts. God bless Joe Judge.
