I guess Tom ain't for everybody but he did win with both NFL teams he coached and Boston College as well. Maybe they should of at least tried a bit longer.
Sometimes it's just a bad fit, nobody's fault. Don't know how many of those players were Tom's picks. Until he changed his approach with the Giants he wasn't liked by hardly any players.

That decision seems to have worked out well for Jacksonville... Tom got fired because he consistently violated the CBA. He thought the CBA only applied to the other 31 teams and not the Jags.

All coaches break the CBA to some degree. The Giants players didn't cry about it. At least not the ones with rings.

I heard something like half the total complaints from NFL players that year to the NFLPA, were coming from Jags players. I'm sorry but Tom was a dick. and by the way, Giants players complained all the time, especially that first year.

You mean Barrett Green. Tom didn't succeed his second time around with a hopeless situation in Jacksonville, but when a human piece of trash like Jalen Ramsey is speaking for the team, no one is listening. Maybe Blake Bortles will chime in next?

Tom’s job is not to be liked. It’s to bring the best player out of you, and use it as a tool to help the team. An NFL coach would rather be respected, than liked. Look at the legendary head coaches in this sport. You think they were liked by their players? George Allen and Bum Phillips are a rare breed. You have guys like Vince Lombardi, George Halas, Chuck Noll, Bill Parcells, Bill Walsh. They all were tough on their players, and thought of team before feelings.
And who cares what Ramsey thinks. All the money in the world can’t buy him the three rings Tom has.

I respect his honesty. Of course Giants fans are going to come to Tom's defense blindly about this. You know how it is. Tom was awesome when they made the AFC championship and then unlikeable when they transformed back into the Jaguars franchise after that. Similar to how he was a great coach when we won those Super Bowls and Teflon Tom when we stunk up the joint going forward after SB 46.

Tom was a great coach for us all the way up to 2012. The rails totally came off in 2013.

-Michael Strahan You missed the part where he said he hated Coughlin when he got there. It is called being selective about quotes. Tom was a hard core disciplinarian. When a coach is like that, he is "getting the best out of his team" when they win and "unbearable" when they lose. I wish someone would post that gif where Tom totally blows John Mara off.

That was the time if you were drafted by the Giants, you just signed your death warrant.

Jalen Ramsey might be the most dislikable guy in the NFL. And apparently Coughlin lost some of his street cred too.
Oil and water.
