Gets a good contract? What GM not named Dave Gettleman is dumb enough to give him a "good contract". Believe it or not I can see a team signing him for 4 yrs 45 million I don't believe that for one second. If he hits the FA market, I believe he will get a 1-2 year deal for $8-$10M.

I could see a team like the Chiefs or Rams trying to trade for him. Get him on a high flying vertical threat team with playoff hopes this season. I dont see them offering a long term contract worth much because he just cant stay healthy and drops way too much.

That would be awesome but I think the only team that would overpay to that extent is the Giants. I’m trying to think of a team out there dumb enough to do that and the only one that keeps coming to mind is Gettleman and the Giants. Injury history, drops and coming up on a contract year. I don’t see a snow balls chance in hell they get a 2nd for him and even a 3rd would be shocking to me. I think this is probably a 4th round pick. He made the pro-bowl last year and his production is not bad this year. Like you said a 2nd or 3rd is not happening unless it were the Giants picking him!!

I'm a big fan of Zach Ertz but he is close to 32 years old and he told Philly to trade him. If we trade Engram it will be for more than a 5th round pick. Otherwise we will keep him. define keep. Signs him for a ton next year? As of today, it doesn’t seem possible the Giants do anything besides restructure contracts b/c they won’t have any room. Imo, Engram will go for at best a 4th which is a wing and prayer come draft day. This is Dave Gettleman football. He was desperate and the cap is a mess b/c of it. Yes when I say keep I'm saying they would not trade him for a 5th with 11 games left. Next season is next season. Cant make any contract decisions till they see his last 11 games.

If you’re a GM on another team why would you possibly give more than a 5th for the guy? He’s an FA next year and they see the film we do.
I’d prefer the 5th but if you believe in the culture you’re trying to install on this team, trading him is a bad idea.

Just unload him for a 5th. This team doesn't utilize TEs the way other teams do theirs. NY is where good or great college TEs go to die. Last great TE we had & actually utilized in the passing attack was Shockey.

at this point I would be happy with an ordinary TE who is a good blocker and let the receiving be done by the WRs...

this could be the reason buffalo bills have a real interest in Engram: "Why is this loaded offense struggling to tally touchdowns in the red zone? Buffalo is scoring nearly 34 points per game, but the team is 26th in red-zone TD conversion. No team in football made more trips inside the opponent's 20-yard line in the season's first six weeks, but the Bills punched it into the end zone only 55.2 percent of the time." www.nfl.com/news/nfl-power-rankings-week-8-2021-nfl-season

Downgrading from your previous claim that he could get a 1st round pick in a trade. And like the other guy said: Pay up on the bet you made. Ohhhhhhhh…is this the new Gunner? I’ve noticed he hasn’t been around lately, shirking a bet is about as low as you can get IMO. I hope that’s not the case.

Ertz is good but is he as much of a mismatch nightmare as our Pro-Bowl TE Engram? mismatch nightmares usually aren't because too many really good DBs in the league...unless of course your team really sucks.

EE is a talented guy that could help several teams. Buffalo, Green Bay, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, or Minnesota are a few teams that might be in play.

Cool there is a bidding war for him!! Hope Getty finds the phone this time.. It might take him a while to call back if he misses the call since he still uses rotary dial.

Probably a 6th or 7th. And one team's trash is another's treasure... You think Bengals fans weren't laughing when we signed Ross? They probably still are.

Great.. Now Kaden Smith and his 5 fans can play more snaps. Engram has played well the past few weeks. The Giants know this, and are trying to deal him before opposing teams come to their senses. I could see a 5th round pick and roll of quarters in the deal.

How is it some of you are still giving this guy a pass after all we’ve seen? He is not a make or break player. Not a go to guy at all. Damn sure not dependable. I don’t understand some of you guys.

Ertz is good but is he as much of a mismatch nightmare as our Pro-Bowl TE Engram? Ertz played well for years while Engram was still trying to learn to catch. He’s older now, but I’d take him any day.

I never understood why some fans were saying we would be lucky to get a 5th round pick. This guy has legit skills. He would definitely draw interest of other teams. I want him here until we have a better option. Right now we do not. Not even close. Engram has legit skills, when he isnt hurt, dropping passes or tipping them up causing interceptions. He cant block either. A 5th would be a steal. Trade him while there is interest otherwise he will get hurt again and not be able to be traded. I don't know Big A, for a 5th rounder I would rather he play for us also. He probably gets let go at end of year. So his money goes back into the cap next year. For a 5th rd pick they are usually not effective players. Now for a 4th to me it's a coin flip if that imo, a 3rd or higher I make the trade. But for a 4th or 5th I'd rather keep him.

EE is a talented guy that could help several teams. Buffalo, Green Bay, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, or Minnesota are a few teams that might be in play. He had a couple of 100+ yard games with Eli throwing. If he goes on a team with an established QB and not asked to block much he will produce. He doesn't fit in Garrets offense and seems not to have any chemistry with DJ.

Honestly, this probably won't be a popular statement, but I think he should have been traded 2 years ago.
For a guy who is supposed to be a matchup nightmare, how often do you see him wide open? Too many bad drops/tips/fumbles in crucial situations, year after year.
I've said before I don't like using the term soft for any NFL player when that term was being used for Barkley by some. If anyone on this team is soft...it's Engram.
