too many times teams take a chance on a player simply because he's a good athlete but that doesn't always translate into being a good football player... Jerry Reese 101

I feel this trade will happen. I sure hope Kaden Smith gets more playing time. He's definitely the better blocker and is sure handed. He had some nice moments under Shurmur. I don't know what to expect from Rudolph. He has the rep as excellent hands but may not have much left. We will see. I don't think Rudy has very much left at all. He could help in blocking but I fear he won't hold up for remainder of the season. I do think he can be effective around the goal line. Smith I don't see any advantage in playing him over EE at all. EE imo is our best option at TE by a wide margin. You missed the memo. All Giants fans are supposed to hate Evan Engram. He's the singular cause of all the Giants woes since 2012.
I think he was behind the grassy knoll as well.

Here's to hoping they can turn this pick into a good player.. Bavaro was a mid round pick but not in the 19th round like some baseball players.. Bavaro I think was a 2nd round guy Mowatt was I think an UDFA (considering drafts were like 12 rounds back then its even more impressive he made it and was really good Bavaro was a 4th rounder I believe Mowatt was UDFA.

I could use a 6 pack for the Monday night game.....I mean only a real sucker would trade anything more for that bag of dicks. We got a 5th for Snacks . Snacks was a bit Older and had one foot on the banana peel on his way to retirement Lions got 1 good year out of him then it was adios.

I have been critical of his injuries, drops, fumbles and inability to block his position. However my main gripe was the decision to take a gadget guy when our roster needs were so profound. I have said the same thing about Barkley, even more so. That pick was so high that we might have gotten 2 high picks and a starter for him. Our OL woes could be solved by now. Engram and Barkley (I could add others to this list) span 2 generations of GM which means that our problem with personnel resides somewhere else. It likely rests with one or two people whose name begins with an M.

EE will entice some team with his talent - unrealized as a Giant.
I just remember last year with those key drops in critical situations, which was unfortunate since that was it for me.
A fair offer, a 4th or 5th in return, with a change in venue would be the best scenario for the Giants, fans and EE.
I wish him well going forward.

I keep coming back here for confirmation of the trade. Me too! It's not that I don't like the guy but he is not a complete TE and the Giants need that because the Oline is still not there. A blocking TE is important for the Giants IMHO.

One of the most deadly 12 formations in NFL history (for the 8 weeks both were at the top in that 86 run before Mowatt's knee disintegrated starting in 1987)

this could be the reason buffalo bills have a real interest in Engram: "Why is this loaded offense struggling to tally touchdowns in the red zone? Buffalo is scoring nearly 34 points per game, but the team is 26th in red-zone TD conversion. No team in football made more trips inside the opponent's 20-yard line in the season's first six weeks, but the Bills punched it into the end zone only 55.2 percent of the time." www.nfl.com/news/nfl-power-rankings-week-8-2021-nfl-seasonThis would make sense DG has a working relationship with their GM from their Carolina days together.

This was actually a good deal for us Agree think especially in hind sight all the trades they made were pretty much good for us OBJ has been injured and when healthy not a factor like he was here, OV they did good there to. The snacks deal opened the door for DT and that was their plan from the start.

A 12 formation with 2 traditional TEs that block well and move the chains in a lot of open space created by said playmakers.. And can smash a team to oblivion in the running game because now they have 7 guys that can block up front against a thinned out defense because of their said 2 playmakers... They litterally can play any style of offense and beat you and change up when needed Smith and a gut like Ruckert next year in the 3rd...if Golladay can stay healthy along with Toney.... This is potentially close(as long as the line isn't total shit inside

Engram dropped 10.1% of his passes in 2020, ranking him #1 in drops in the entire NFL for players with at least 74 targets (the 77 top receivers). On top of that, I don't feel that a TE can be compared to a WR, in terms of catch difficulty. The passes are typically shorter, they're not usually running full speed or backs to the QB for an extended time. In many cases, if they are mostly handling blocking duties, they are not always accounted for with coverage like a WR must always be. A drop is exactly that.. These are professionals getting paid millions of dollars to catch when it's their turn.. Will the excuses ever stop with some of you?? Crazy land..

If they do trade him it will be for him also get him out of here with a new start where he doesn't have be booed coming on the field and Cheered coming off, just not a good situation for him here. It really sucks because he is a good kid and their is talent to be mined .

They have a good 2 way guy in Knox when you're desperate you reach for things. Plus who knows maybe there's something about him fitting their scheme that they see that we don't. For one thing their WRs are on the small side. I could see him line up as a wideout on their smallest DB in red zone.

The drops are one thing. The turnovers are the real killers. The drops, the turnovers, the bad routes, the no separation, the bad blocking.......honest question.....it sounds like I'm being sarcastic but I'm really not. Is there anything that Evan Engram does well? There are things he does well at times. Just not nearly often enough.
