So with LBs being a weakness would anyone take a chance on him? At a huge cost reduction of course.
The Cowboys owe him his full salary this year. I would take him in a heartbeat. Tackling machine. Has not missed a single game as a pro. Fast as hell.

It makes a ton of sense unless that knee is going south in a hurry.

Why was he released? Keep in mind, we don’t need more problems than we got now. Was it an injury?

I posted this in the NFL section..Guano would know Seemed he was playing OK...
Honestly he is a year to year, maybe even game to game .. That is a big accelerated dead cap hit for them as well that probably goes against next year's cap

If healthy no brainer. They simply have too many LBs and owe him a ton of money, so taking the hit this year instead of next year is why they did it. He is 100% healthy and I bet he would love to suit up against them on Sunday lmao.

So they release him now, take the cap hit this season and are free next season. He is healthy and is not an off the field concern.

Was shocked to see this pop up on Twitter but hell Yes I would take Jaylon Smith on this team especially with Blake Martinez being out for the season
Get It Done Gettleman!

He is 100% healthy and I bet he would love to suit up against them on Sunday lmao. If he is truly healthy and Gettleman does nothing on this I am done with him for good. I have backed him up a lot more than many here but if this does not get done tomorrow the latest, I am done with him. This defense is a mess and Blake is not coming back this season. The defense is a disaster right now and this can only help if he is healthy. It is a must sign.

It is pretty much perfect timing honestly. We happen to lose our MLB for the year and now Smith is available. He only gets like 150 tackles a season lol. Smith is a 3-4 LB and they are playing more 4-2 with Parsons moved down. He would be a perfect fit here.

I bet he is more likely to go to a contender. Probably KC or something.

wow, I honestly thought they were going to pair him and Parsons as their core LB group for the future. I thought they were going to let Vander Esch go instead because of his injury history. This is a huge shock and he should definitely be on the Giants radar.

He does some things very well. Would immediately be one of our better LBs.

Cowboy fans are running on about how they loved this guy and he seemed like a real team leader/heart guy but his body can't do it anymore. This one may need to be a hard pass.

Yes.
I think his knee got worse though.
That said, bring him in. It's Cowboys week. Pick his brain.

They have physicals for a reason. They must bring him for a look. This is not even a question. It must get done and if healthy enough that he can play on it you sign him immediately.

For a cheap contract I will take the chance. Right now our MLB actually has a knee injury and can't play anymore. So getting him is a step up. A QB broke 15 tackles on us this week. His 5.3% missed tackles is the lowest in his career too.

We signed him to a 7 year deal! And he only played 1.

I believe it was also Romo's first game when the starter went down. (the starters name is at the tip of my tongue but I cant remember. his name...dude from NE)

Giants are tapped out when it comes to cash. I don't think he will be coming in there is a cap this would be like signing John Beason to an extension after knowing his injury history, if any thing nothing long term.

Undersized, slow COD and gets run over at the POA. Pass So that's it then? They need to continue to suck with what they have right now? Do we need to endure another week of this defense getting run over by back up QB's and letting RB's get 9 yards a carry? Smith averages close to 150 tackles a season. If this is not done, this team is basically resigning itself to not even attempt to improve defensively this season. Do you see the offenses they have coming up? They keep playing defense like they have, they will lose every single game miserably and without Martinez the defense is going to continue to be horrid. They were playing lousy even with Martinez! Cannot win a shoot out each week against these upcoming opponents no way no how.
