We won! F*ck the Eagles.
That’s all that matters.

With no oline, running game or receivers? Totally fine. Cant expect miracles under those conditions. How did the other guy (Hurt) look with a great line and running game?

He missed a few plays, but overall I thought he managed a brand new offense pretty well.

Mediocre at best. At some point, he's going to need to start being the reason we win. Simply not being the reason we lose is not good enough anymore.

Average. Blocking was attrocious. I don't even know what his ceiling is. Glad he didn't turn the game over like last week.

The Giants won, which is the most important thing. As for Jones, I like his athleticism but he lacks that X factor to be a true franchise QB.

Thought he looked accurate and made good decisions. Lack of running game and explosive plays limits this offense.
Kitchens seemed even more conservative than Garrett. Screen game looked good.

We won only because of the defense. Jones was okay at best. He did nothing that made me change my opinion of him.

Not impressed and now just read more excuses. He had most of his weapons, the offense didn’t drastically change like someone alluded to and his numbers still sucked. Luckily his Philthy counterpart sucked worse today. Hurts and the defense won the game, DJ is the textbook definition of bus driver.

I don’t think either QB looked good.

He played well enough to win the game. I have no bitch when we win.
Ugly win = win

Interesting that they both suck after we beat Hurt because most of this week people online as well as talking heads have been praising both Hurt and the Eagles.

he has till the end of next year to drastically improve or his azzz is out; at least he should have much better protection and blessed with the injury thing next year for his cast of weapons so really no excuses!!

He was missing Toney and Shep...what else is new? This excuse is not going to cut it anymore. I saw Aaron Rodgers do way more with less against a better defense in Arizona earlier this season. That's not to say Jones has to be Aaron Rodgers, but he shouldn't get a pass for scoring 13 points because a couple of wrs are out. If it weren't for the defense, the Giants would've lost another one in pathetic fashion due to their anemic offense. If you think that performance should be expected from Jones because of the surrounding cast today, then you absolutely have to concede that Jones is not the guy.

Well in their defense Hurt and the Eagles were good enough to put up 40 points on the Saints last week.

meh
Let's see if Kitchen's opens up the offense next week, after a full week of practice and of course one game under their belts.

I do not expect any qb to excel with the worst oline in the NFL, no running game and what we ran out there today at receiver. Do you? This week people said Rodgers rating dropped from 3rd overall to 29th when he is rushed. Our oline is effecting everything. Take Slatons loss of 13 yards. Our oline got blown up. Slaton did not have a chance. Should we ignore the oline and just blame Slaton on that play?

First 2 game winning streak against the Eagles in almost 15 years... since 2007-2008...Jones seems to play well against them.

As far as I'm concerned we are probably in salvage mode with Jones starting this week. This is more a post about the offense in general which includes Jones I am one of the few here that actually think he could reach the upside I saw way back. He looked confident today Professional level pocket presence and felt the pressure and climbed the pocket, seemed to not be locking on reads unless they were there for the most part. Also seemed very comfortable changing plays at the line (first time he was allowed to control and manage it at the line like this in this offense)
I spoke of symptoms in the game thread and treatments
First symptom was identified and treated While not apparent stat wise Kitchen's playcalling gets a high grade. Definitely looked like plays were called to take advantage of what players can do,schemed players open, great route combos(that play where Ross ran a mid level crossing pattern underneath Engram running a deep corner, wow, what a concept, wide open) Some exotic ideas (a flea flicker screen of all things,I have never seen this play at any level in all my 45 plus years of watching football) 3 RBs in the backfield (Brightwell,Barkley and Penny) Lots of motion...
Tbe TD drive, taking numerous shots into the end zone...tbe 1st and goal from the 1 call.
A modern wham block by the TE in the middle that sprung Barkley..
Unfortunately execution was D level at times, mainly the fact the entire O line to the right of Thomas is still a mess...could not get any consistent push in tbe running game...Solder is horrific...complete blew that end around where if he just gets in the way Slayton had room on that side.. Hernandez still can't block stunts.....
Needless false start by Skuda that cost the team a chance to continue that long drive at the end of the 4th...
Also ... While the play designs looked great and would have worked if executed.. When you have a freshly off the street guy in Cooper running the plays that were designed for Toney, routes that Shepard run...it's not going to go quite the way you want..
Jones did enough to help the team win,key throws in that long last drive that made the score more than a FG...
He will be here the rest of this year and 2022...salvage mode.

Nah Kitchens had to go with what he had on the field.... Remember,Cooper running Toney's plays, right side of O line terrible He played to score inside the 10 and not for a FG

Maybe you're cool with putting up 13 points in a game where the defense takes the ball away 4 times, gets a 4th down stop, and only gives up 7....but I'm not. Not from a so called franchise qb. He had a future hof rb in the backfield and a $70 million wr1 on the outside (lol). Seriously though, you're reaching for excuses at this point. Jones doesn't seem to play the game within the game, and he doesn't seem to elevate anyone. Eli used to make no name guys look serviceable all the time.
