Any complete rebuild that includes a new franchise qb must also include a young talented o line and playmakers on rookie deals at the same time .... This was not done even remotely correctly... So here we are Watching Lawrence also getting ruined already gives me no solace because that guy should have been a top 10 qb out of the box.. putting Lawrence on a mule team did him no favors... I thought Lawrence was supposed to be the best prospect since Luck and would single handedly change the fortunes of the Jags. Can't believe that didn't happen, and even though important (the most important position still) coaching, and the team around someone is paramount to success.

Name a QB taken in the first round, in the past 10 years that didn't have the "skills" to be a franchise QB. "He has the skills to be a franchise QB" is one of the most overused platitudes in this league. you think its an over used platitude yet you agree with it. We dont have to agree. Who thinks a top 10 QB has the skills or doesnt is subjective. Skillset also incudes enough mental ability to run and understand a pro offense correctly and attitude. This is where most fail It's not about whether you agree with statement, it's the bare minimum for being a first round QB. Of course it's completely subjective, if you went and asked 10 people what skills does a QB need to have to be a franchise player, you'd get 10 different answers. That's why it didn't mean anything when you said it.

I agree with what you say here but haven't we been working on these things for years now, I just can't understand whats taking so long to get back to being a decent football team...
