The number one issue I have with today's game are the stoppages. I have no problem allowing coaches to challenge a play, but I do have a problem with the automatic reviews and the hacks wearing striped shirts. Whether it's late flags, or flags being surreptitiously picked up and disregarded; I don't enjoy having to wait it out to see how the officials may or may not affect the game. It kills the spontaneity. IMO, they should just eliminate challenges throughout the game. I would limit instant replay to after the two minute warning of the game and OT while that decision would have to come from HQ. I would also limit it to PI calls or catch debates. The stoppages are where the NFL makes a lot of their money through commercials, so I seriously doubt that they will decrease them.
That is when the NFL truly crossed the line. They took a controversial moment to break for a commercial. I wonder which suit came up with that idea? That's akin to forcing a TV timeout before a 3rd down snap. Morons.
I disagree with you about the replays though. My preference is to have the teams request them rather the league mandate them. Give each team a limited number of flags each game and let them throw 'em as they see fit.

So thankful for Evolution - To many stoppages, flags, commerical timeouts, less enjoyment after scoring, questionable calls , etc. What, I thought that you liked the medical commercials or commercials about male enhancement.Like the NFL, male enchancement evolutions appear simple yet have as many side effects as the NFL has rules. Let's speed read through the check list lol

Let's speed read through the check list lol I DVR some games because of I do a lot with my family and it feels great to fast forward through all of the commercials. The problem with doing it like that regularly is that it requires a person to leave their phone totally alone and shut the whole world out. That my man, is way easier said than done.

They're so obsessed with their commercials that they now show them at times during live action or unintentionally. I was watching a Chargers game this year where they missed an entire long deep ball from Justin Herbert to Mike Williams because they were still in a commercial break. I also find it very ironic for the league to be so hardcore about substance abuse yet have $230 million paid by Anheuser-Busch every year to them. Verizon pays them 300 million a year and those are the top 2.

Quoting Puff Daddy. "It's all about the Benjamins, baby. I hear a lot of sports people saying that greed is ruining the game.... Greed ruins everything. It makes people and companies compromise themselves and their integrity. In my 2nd career after the Navy, several of my clients are in trouble with entities like the IRS or state DOR's because of that paper chase.

I hear a lot of sports people saying that greed is ruining the game.... Greed ruins everything. It makes people and companies compromise themselves and their integrity. what you say here is true and the NFL is certainly guilty, it seems at times the commercials have become more important than the game and that the game is now a vehicle for commercials, I hope thats not true...

I hear ya. More and more I find the broadcast an intrusion on the game itself.
Whether it's Chris Collinsworth interrupting the action with his PFF bullshit, or Tony Romo, who can't shut the hell up for two seconds. CBS will literally ignore a current play, spot, or foul that might be extremely important so Tony can flap his gums over something the QB did 2 plays ago.

I have been praying for years that Collingsworth and Al Michaels be fired, quit, or both. I HATE watching games with those idiots commentary. ....and Romo sounds like an infatuated 13 year old girl who just got her first kiss.

and that right there is an excellent example of what is more important, screw the fans and just keep making money, football games are now just a vehicle for commercials...

Yeah, or we miss the punt returner backup and fair catch the ball at his own 4 yard line with no coach ripping him lol.

What's nice is the pirated stream I use doesn't have any commercials. You see the live stadium feed with no commentary until the game resumes.

lol, got that headache confused with Trivago and that spokesperson experiencing accelerated deterioration over a year. Lol, from clean cut to a mess. But yeah, Truvata is one of those “please, make it stop” commercials.

I think Madden and Summerall were the best commentators. Even Enberg and Merlin Olsen were nice on NBC. Marv Albert did some NFL games for NBC back in the day as well.

Marv was good. Although I don't remember who they teamed him up with.
